An overwhelming response of affirmative support at the called congregational meeting on Sunday, October 10, 2010 approved recommendations to 1) construct a new sanctuary at a cost not to exceed ...
We are building a brand new state of the art facility for our congregation.
Presently, Sunday worship is held at two separate locations. The Family Life Center, in which the majority of our congregation worships, is a multi-purpose space, forcing a weekly setting up and putting away of everything used by the congregation, choir and musicians. This is not the best stewardship of the congregation's time and energy. A portion of the congregation has never worshipped in the sacred space of a sanctuary because our present sanctuary has not been able to contain the non-traditional service for the past six years. The traditional service has been deterred from growing because that service's attendance has exceeded the comfortable capacity limits for seating. The need for a larger sanctuary to provide a sacred space for both traditional and non-traditional worship is great!
A rough estimate is that we could occupy the new facility when construction is complete.
The projected price for the construction and furnishings is $ 3,100,000.
Expenses for the Development and Planning stage that is presently underway are being met through our Building Fund. The balance will be borrowed from a bank and paid off through a combination of donations made through the Capital Fund Appeal and funds allotted in our church's budget.
A Capital Fund Appeal is a church project that seeks pledged donations from members of the congregation to be used in paying for a major construction project; in our case, a new facility.
The total anticipated cost for the construction of a new worship facility and renovating music ministry space is $3.1 million. We do have reason to expect this number to come down in the near future but we must work with a clear estimate as we move forward. The congregation has established financial safeguards to avoid taking on too large a debt load. These guidelines tell us we need a minimum of $780,000 to see this project come to pass.
No. Participation in the campaign and how much you give will be entirely up to you. All members and guests will be given the opportunity to contribute if they wish to do so.
Allow God to speak to your heart through prayer. Read Scripture passages that speak about stewardship and giving, such as 1 Corinthians 16:2, Proverbs 11:25, Proverbs 3:5-9, 2 Corinthians 8:7, Acts 20:35, Luke 6:38, and Psalm 116:12; pray "Lord, what will you have me do to help our congregation fulfill your vision of ministry for generations to come?"
You are asked to make a 3-year commitment.
Absolutely! All pledges matter, regardless of amount, because as we all participate according to our ability, God multiplies our giving.
Pledge cards will be turned in on Commitment Sunday, and pledges will begin to be received shortly thereafter.
Contributions can be made by cash or check. Other forms of contributions can include the transference of title to marketable stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.
Yes. You may update your commitment at any time.
No. Participating in the campaign is a personal decision for each of us, and anyone may contribute to God's work in our church.
